Just looking at your CC1 I don't know how yu can work with it that way. I guess you can do that and get by with it but eventually you're going to end up with a real bottle neck. I do see that you must be using the Kontakt track for all your midi. Without having the libraries that you're using, it's hard to tell from your picture, what exactly is what in Kontakt. Okay, I'm not talking about vibrato that you add through modulation or sum FX, there should be some articulations that have more vibrato in them. I don't know about the vibrato, because I didn't modify it, it's maybe because of the massive reverb. I'm using a headset, and it sounds pretty like on the track, for the violin melody at least. I did add some EQ as well to make the violon sounds like on the soundtrack.

I did the midi sequence on reaper, using 1 track with 4 instruments, the violin melody is from LA Scoring Strings 2. I listened the track several times and tried to adjust my reverb, but before I had to find the right notes of course. Here's a link to some pretty good true stereo impulses. When I started that thread I was pretty clueless as to how it all worked. I'm guessing they are the Convolution that are in Kontakt and unless they are using 2 Convo-verbs in some way to get true stereo reverb, you might be able to come up with a better convo-verb.Ĭheck out this thread about True Stereo Reverb, there's a lot of info there. Hi maxime, are the reverbs that Audiobro refer to, in Kontakt itself or do they have a completely separate reverb? If anyone manage to get that kind of pretty good sound, could you please share it there? I also like the strings sound in "Reverie in G". That said, one of the reason we started including our own reverbs was to help users get at different “filmic” sounding reverberation without using external plugins or additional hardware." "Since that demo was composed prior to our release of Stage and Color (and our included LASS reverbs) I’m pretty sure Nathan used his own reverbs. To tried to know what reverb he used in this demo, I sent a mail to Audiobro itself, here is the answer :

I heard their demos on Audiobro's website, and I really like how sounds the strings in "The Calm After" by Nathan Furst. Knufinke's SIR2 has superb impulse responses available.įor a long time I tried to find the "right reverb" for LASS2, but I never get what I want. You may also like a convolution / impulse reverb on this type of material.

#ALTIVERB 7 DEMO FOR MAC OS X#
Unfortunately, it uses iLok so it doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned. Audioease Altiverb 7 The original, professional convolution reverbAltiverb 7 is the industry standard convolution reverb plug-in for Mac OS X and Windows. Reaper people are experts at finding less expensive solutions which sound better than more expensive solutions, so I'm asking here.Ĭan I do better than Spaces for dry orchestral samples? Is Altiverb really worth $1,000? Any other advice about reverb for dry orchestral samples?Īltiverb has a great reputation. But I take the vi-control crowd's opinion with a grain of salt, because their music doesn't generally sound good, and a fair portion are the type who would buy expensive equipment whether it's worth it or not. Altiverb, expensive,Īltiverb is also what Audiobro chose to use when making their demos for LASS. I already have QL Spaces, but I'm wondering about other reverbs. I'm also using LASS samples, which were recorded in a regular sound stage but still sound dry. The samples are from VSL, and were recorded in their "silent stage": Note: In this episode I’m using my vintage RE20 microphone and Apollo x4 interface (with API preamp and LA-2A compressor).I need to add reverb to orchestral samples which are almost dry.
